Getting started
How do I get started as a parent?
Download the Rpenny Parent app and create your account. From there, set up a new family or join one you've been invited to, then add a child, invite a co-parent, and create your first task.
How do I add a child?
From the Parent app, add a child with their name and a username. You'll also set a PIN for them — that's what they use to sign in on their own device, no email required.
Family & co-parents
How do I invite a co-parent?
Share a one-time invite code, or invite by email, so a partner can join your family. Up to two parents can be part of a family, and co-parents have full access — creating tasks, approving submissions, and managing the wallet — with no separate permission level between them.
What does the parent dashboard show?
Every child's balance and level, plus family totals for virtual ₹ earned, tasks completed, and tasks awaiting review — along with a weekly earnings chart and balance trend for each child.
Tasks & approval
How do I create a task?
A task has a title, description, a virtual ₹ reward, and one assigned child. Set it up as a one-time chore, or make it repeat as a daily or weekly routine.
How do task approvals work?
When your child marks a task done, it lands in your review queue. Approve it to credit the virtual ₹ reward and XP, or reject it with a short note explaining why — the task goes back to your child to try again.
Wallet & rewards
What's in the Wallet?
The Wallet shows your family balance and each child's balance with a full transaction history. Parents can also send a bonus in virtual ₹ to a child at any time, outside of any task.
What are spend requests?
When a child wants to spend from their balance, they send a spend request that a parent approves or declines before anything moves. Kids can also send virtual ₹ directly to a brother or sister in the family.
How do XP, levels, and badges work?
Every approved task earns XP, and enough XP levels a child up. Badges are earned for milestones — the first task completed and the first savings goal completed — with more badges on the way.
Goals
What are savings goals?
A child creates a savings goal with a name and a target, then adds virtual ₹ toward it as a progress bar fills in. Parents can boost a goal with extra virtual ₹, and when a goal is completed the parent decides whether the saved amount returns to the wallet or stays spent.
What are the simulated FD, SIP, and RD tools?
Kids can practice saving with a simulated Fixed Deposit, SIP, or Recurring Deposit, all using virtual ₹, to learn how saving works — none of it is real investing, interest, or banking.
Privacy & safety
Is this real money?
No. Every ₹ in Rpenny is virtual and stays inside the app — it's an educational tool, not a payment or banking product. Nothing in Rpenny moves real money, and there's nothing to buy in-app.
How is my family's data handled?

Account
How do kids sign in?
With a username and a PIN, set up for them by a parent in the Parent app — no email needed, and there's no self-signup.
Troubleshooting
I'm not getting notifications
Check that the app has notification permission in your device settings, and that your device has a working internet connection. Parents are notified when a task is ready for review; kids are notified when their task is approved.
A task seems stuck in review
It's waiting on a parent to approve or reject it — check the review queue in the Parent app.
